I know! I KNOW!

I get it already! I really do. I should be fired from doing this blog thing. But I think it is really good to vent into space and not have to worry about a response, because really, how many people read this? If there is anyone out there that is interested in my little life. Let me tell you that I have found my hero! lol. Check out her blog here! She made me laugh until I cried. I can only aspire to be as eloquent with my words as she is. But I can totally relate!

My nine year old has a problem with me today (When doesn't she?) I sent her to her room because she wasn't obeying and now I am the meanest person on earth:

Me: You are not allowed to watch that channel please change it to channel 3 or 11.
Her: But Mom, it's the only channel that has Saddle Club on it.

(I am okay with saddle club. When it is on on Saturday morning and the commercials are age appropriate, but the commercials playing on this channel are not!?)

Me: Turn the TV to channel 3 or 11 (PBS Kids) or shut the TV off.

(I mean how hard is this? You have 3 choices do one of them!)
She then proceeds to the guide and starts using the up arrow to get from channel 519 or something like that back down to channel 3 or 11.

Me: Use the numbers and type in the channel you want. DO NOT use the scroll or whatever its called.

Her: If you do that it automatically changes to that channel. (Duh!? It really doesn't not when you are in guide mode.

Me: Change the channel to 3 or 11 NOW.

She proceeds to ignore me and does what she wants anyways. Let me explain the reasons for not wanting her to "surf" the channels.... there are ADULT ones in there!!! I have them blocked through the parental control, we don't subscribe to them so you can't actually watch them even if they weren't blocked. BUT, you CAN read the names of the programs.... I really don't want to explain why Debbie does Dallas!!!! Seriously.

So at this point I am totally fed up and just tell her to go to her room as she hollers about how I never let her talk. Of course not, you haven't obeyed. When your conversation starts "But, Mom can't I just...." It means you are going to talk back and are trying to avoid obeying anyways. Why can't they just understand that to get want you want you have to DO what I want?

Is that so hard?

Okay there is my vent!

See you guys in another month or so! :D
