Camping!

Oh. Camping is so very tiring. It's fun, don't get me wrong, but sleeping on an unfamiliar bed and eating way too much and doing way to little, staying up too late, rising too early all contribute to exaustion. Not to mention a seriously upset digestive system. We were only gone for two nights and we didn't even have our own kids to worry about, but I am tired. My stomach has been upset most of the day and I am sunburned. I know, I should have put sun screen on instead of relying on staying in the shade, but I forgot. Thankfully I wore pants all weekend and big t-shirts that had the arms that go clear to your elbows, so the only part of me really sun burned is my nose....I look like rudolph. I'm sure too, that it will peal.

I did try to be very good this weekend though. I brought my own water and tried to choose that over soda for most of the day. I quit drinking soda regularly sometime in March. I was the biggest coke drinker ever. I could almost polish off a two-liter in a day.... every day. I have since switched to drinking crystal light and have even started doing half flavored water and half regular water. I am trying to be more healthy, camping is not really the best environment for that though.

The girls didn't miss us at all. Figures. They were happy to see us, but they had a lot of fun swimming with Mimi and Papa and probably causing all sorts of ruckus. Kyra was asleep in the van a few minutes after we left their house and only woke up to change clothes and go to the bathroom when we got back. Well, even if they didn't miss us, I missed them. It is good to get away and remember that we love the little stinkers...even when they are stinkers!

Weird Weather

Well, today has been a very crazy weather day. It started out very sunny and around lunch time got dark enough that we had to turn on some lights and it thundered and lighteninged (that's probably not really a word!) like crazy. Then it got very sunny again. Around dinner time it got dark and stormed again. Now it's drizzling and thundering. Very strange indeed!

What is it with the kids today??? Yesterday was okay, but today they are bickering again...maybe the weather is not helping their moods. I know that Em is disappointed because her t-ball game was canceled. Taryn should be thrilled she only has one more full day of school left. Then two half days and we are finally done! WooHoo! I don't have to get up early....well, I didn't have to get up early because my hubby is wonderful and woke her up and got her ready for school. But next year I have to get up too, actually the whole house has to get up. Kyra will be starting kindergarted in the fall, and I will be going back to school again too.

I went to school a long time ago to become a massage therapist. I am considering going back to school to finish the extra hours needed for NY state license. Are there any therapists out there? Any advice would be welcome.

Holy cow! It's 7pm...where is my hubby? He's usually home by 6pm... Well, I'm going to try to find him! lol

Did I mention that I have a 9 year old girl? I think she is hormonal! I am telling you! The attitude and the teenage angst is all starting already! I'm going crazy! I don't even know what to do with her. She thinks that she is so very misunderstood and so mistreated. Today she told me that I favor her sisters. Then I am thinking to myself....do I? Arg!

Well, I must go quilt. I am not quilting again for like a whole year! Really! So if I even mention starting another quilt please please slap me! :D

Well, we got the pool liner in, or Kevin and Dad got the pool liner in.... I mostly, um.... supervised! Yep! That's it, I supervised! lol. Well, it's late and way past my bedtime, but I had to share this supercool layout. (IMHO) Good Night!

Where did Saturday go?

Do you ever feel like that? My gosh! Just where did that day go? I understand now, why I feel as though I missed a whole day during the weekend. Yesterday was a little crazy. We had to go pick up my hubby's motorcycle, and of course we couldn't drive it and OF COURSE, we don't have a truck! lol. Anyways run here drop off kids pick up truck run 45 minutes in the opposite direction to said motorcycle shop, pick up bike drive 35 minutes in another direction and return borrowed truck to original location where the children are. I feel like we drove in a huge triangle just to get ONE errand done. Then I worked on finishing up fixing mom's computer and Kev and I were able to go out with some friends. It doesn't quite look as crazy when I type it... but it surely felt like the day was gone and we had accomplished nothing!

Today is more of the same. Kev is doing school work, I am catching up on some scrapbooking and then we go get the kids, and try and put a new pool liner in the pool. Is that hard? I've never done that before. After we manage that we get to come home and Kev will prolly do school work all night until he is incredibly grouchy and irritated, I can't wait until this semester is over, then I get about a month of peace before he starts again. Don't get me wrong, he is doing well. I just don't like to see him so miserable.

Oh! I have more good news! Brenda Kempf has invited me to work on her creative team!!! I am so excited. I get to work with two great ladies! Wahoo! I've "met" most of Lawanna's team and they seem like a really great group of scrappers.

Anyone know why my animated gif blinkie won't work when I upload it? It works in windows picture viewer and it works in Adobe Image Ready.... hmmm. Oh well! Have a great day!

I have been trying to put a little gif file on the right side of the screen screaming my good news, but for some reason it just sits on the first frame.... Anyways! These pictures were taken on March 21, 2006, almost a week after Kyra and Abby collided heads at Awana’s. They were running in the sanctuary, one running up the aisle the other running down and BAM! Kyra’s cheek swelled up so quickly that I was sure she had broken something. Abby, on the other hand, had not a scratch on her! That girl must have a real hard head!

I have knitted about 5 inches of my blanket so far! It is so cute. I will be sure to take a picture when I am done. I am getting much quicker at it. I first started crocheting when I was 10 or so, and just learned to knit within the last year. I can crochet like the wind, but knitting...no so much! Anyways, I am glad that I am learning to be a little quicker, or it would have taken me years to finish the baby blankets that need to be done this summer. Is it just me or is EVERYONE pregnant? Not I.

I also knit... did you know? I just started a baby blanket for a friend of mine. I figured I could knit when we camped this summer and during all the sporting events that I will have to attend all summer too! It's a free pattern from Lion Brand yarn. It's called My Favorite Blankie. Check it out.

Well, short blog today, gotta go work on my FIL's quilt that was supossed to be done for last Christmas! It is a cheater way of making the Mariner's Compass pattern. Mine looks very similar to the one in the picture on the right. Check out their kits at www.quiltsmart.com

Organize What?

I am having the worst time trying to find all of my digital files! It takes hours just to find that "one" thing I saw and I know that I have. I have all of my files saved in a folder with the designer's name and then a sub folder with the kit name. At least I won't forget who made it, but man, if I need a white ribbon it's opening folder after folder after folder. So I downloaded Picassa, trying to get organized, but I really wish that someone had told me about this a year and a half ago when I was first starting. I have sooo many files. A lot of them the freebies from crops and chats and blogs. I also have all the freebie kits from 2 peas. I love them. Oh well, I feel better, I have vented.

On to another subject. What is it about kids that makes them bicker? The two girls have been bickering non-stop all morning. One wanting to boss the other around, the younger one having no part of it. I even pulled out a couple of games that they haven't played in a while and they were excited but now they are fighting over that too. "She isn't playing the right way! She's cheating!" Oh for the love of Pete! Hush! -- Is it Friday yet? I've noticed that the week after Kevin has drill the girls seem to be a little more moody. Missing Daddy time. But Kev took the day off yesterday so you'd think that they would have recovered a little.

Taryn has her very first orthodontist appointment tomorrow. Do you think they will let me bring the camera? She's only 9, I'm not exactly sure what they are going to do, but the dentist recommended seeing one so here we go!

Trying this blog thing.

Okay, everyone's doing it....so maybe I should too. Please don't let my kids see this when they are in high school, then they will throw it at me that I began something because "everyone" was doing it too! lol. I am definately not going to pretend that I will be good at this. Some of you guys are so very wordy it makes me wonder if I can keep up.

Anyways I used a kit called Priceless Kids by DigiScrap Divas. It was a charity kit, but I couldn't find it on their site today. I also used a template from Gina Miller's Simply Sketches Set 11.
